Rio is considered “unadoptable” because he is 10 years old.  Healthy and active, he may have another decade of life! Here is what his family has to say about him.

Looking for a new, loving home for my cat, Rio. He’s a male tabby that is about 10 years old and still has plenty of energy to play! The newest addition to my family has allergies.

Rio came to us from a local middle school teacher who brought a litter of kittens to class and we couldn’t resist! We picked him because he stood out as the most adventurous and that hasn’t changed. He’s very playful and loves attention. He enjoys all the boxes and tissue paper that come with holidays and birthdays; attacking paper, hiding and napping in boxes. He would be happiest with someone who has time to rustle the tissue paper, shoot rubber bands (or Livestrong bracelets) across the room, pull yarn around the house for him to chase, or just pet him when he’s tired. Rio is an indoor /  outdoor cat and has been known to hold his own against our raccoon neighbors. He prefers to do his business outside, but can use a littler box with no problem.
